A Challenge: To Protect Our Children Online

A Challenge: To Protect Our Children Online

Postby Anissa on Fri Nov 09, 2007 8:36 pm

The last few months have been quite busy, and I don't see things slowing down any time soon. With the holidays fast approaching, we have so many things that will fill our minds and take our thoughts away from what our children may be doing online. During this time of season most of our thoughts about the internet will be things like, will my personal and financial info be safe online? Did I check my email? Can I track my packages? And making travel arrangements. One of the most important things to not forget this season, is our children. Who are they talking to online? Do they have a set of guidelines or rules about the internet? Are you keeping a close eye on them while they are online?

I give a CHALLENGE to all parents and guardians to keep a close eye on your children this season, and make sure that the time they spend online will be safe.

Amen!

Being realistic though, it is extremely unfortunate knowing that quite a high majority of parents will be too busy considering themselves to even think about what their child is doing. What's worse is that the parents are aware of the dangers, it's not like you can escape reading about them - they are all over the newspapers everyday.

I think that the parents of which I refer; should pull their fingers out, and start thinking about the Child / Children they have, and really think indepth about what will happen if one of these Sex Predators gain access to their child. If that doesn't change them, I don't know what will....
Even more annoying is the fact that some people do little to help their children but expect all the sympathy when something does happen *cough*McCann's*cough*.
